"chapter 1: innersections.
a series of refined sketches, like little post it-note love letters to and from the radiophonic era. a subtle homage to the often oddball library themes of the 50's & 60's. a feeble attempt at compose-manifesting a kind of magic realism. an experiment in expressionism.

modular techniques are collaged with soulful samples from dilapidated thrift store vinyl and or acoustic sources: rusty oversized costco bean cans utilized in playful percussive contexts; a dwarf spinet; happy accident vibrapharp meanderings; and occasional lite marimba abuse are all at play throughout. the pieces constructed as thus: there are 8 layers per movement. the record button is pressed and the faders coaxed in an impromptu mixology fashion in order to form the compositions on the rough and loose. the gritty result is as though 8 reels of tape were strung and strewn about an old dilapidated detroitian warehouse wrapping around columns, stained cigarette canisters, bottles- any corners that would have it. all the while dragging through the dust and muck before winding up and scraping back through 8 sad & dying tape machine heads.

low fi drippings of post rave rainy day murk; muddy hiss glitch; spasming synth chords; nutty nerdy rhythmic perversions; loose ambient aesthetics: like a series of old excavated polaroids found in a forgotten field or at the far corner of some time-stained attic, innersections is an ode to the act of deconstructing music while intoxicated on some foreign yet familiar substance. never taking itself too seriously, it is a gallivant into some form of retro futurist exotica.

and so you ask, what exactly is a lowern? well it is many things but most importantly, it is an embracing of lowfi imperfection. a "let the resonant bones fall where they may" approach. a leaning heavy on the rusty probability gate of generative haphazardy. a dusty synthetic aesthetic. textursploitation, and or a glitched exercise in sculpting with hiss and grit."
